May 1 – The Dick Goodwin Big Band joins the Palmetto Mastersingers (www.palmettomastersingers.org)
for an evening of “rat pack” music
from their soon to be released CD, “One for My Baby” – 7:30 at the
Koger Center.
May 8 – The Dick Goodwin Big Band plays for the South Carolina Philharmonic’s
beach party gala … 7:00 at Sterling Hall. Contact

May 16 – The Big Band plays for the USC Alumni Association at the Marriott
Hotel from 7:00 to 11:00.
May 17 – The Carolina Jazz Society House Band (with Doug Graham, Bruce
Clark, Jim Hall, and Dick) are playing a concert from 6:00 to
8:30 at the Camden (Kershaw County) Fine Arts Center.
June 1 – The Dick Goodwin Quartet joins the Columbia Choral Society for
an afternoon concert playing a gospel mass … as part of Piccolo
Spoleto in Charleston.
June 8 – 7:00-9:00 in Blowing Rock, NC, the Dick Goodwin Quintet plays
a concert for the jazz club.
June 26-27-27-28-29 and
July 2-3-4-5-6 & 9-10-11-12-13 – The DG Quintet will be featured at Town
Theatre (803-799-2510) … along with a large cast of singers and dancers
in a new musical revue written by Dick and directed by Shannon
Scruggs.
August 9 – The Big Band will play for the USC graduation at the Colonial
Center … get there by 10:00 and hear some spiffy prelude
music by the band.
August 9 – from 7:00 to 10:00 the Dick Goodwin Big Band plays a free concert
at Finlay Park … bring blankets, etc.
October 3 – The Big Band returns to the Capital Senior Center (www.capitalseniorcenter.com)
to play an evening of dance music.
November 7 – The Big Band plays for the USC Alumni Association’s Homecoming
dance.
November 16 – The DG Quintet has been asked to return for another Sundays
at 4:00 concert in McCormick, SC.
November 28 – The Big Band plays a benefit debutante ball for the Augusta
(Georgia) Symphony.
December 31 – The Dick Goodwin Big Band is likely to return to the Newberry
Opera House. For the past few New Year’s Eves the group
has performed popular concert sets complete with guest artists and champagne
intermissions. There are hotel and restaurant packages

February 13 or 14 – look for an announcement about a benefit dance for
the SC Philharmonic! The past two Valentine’s dances with the
Big Band and guest entertainers from various arts groups have been well
attended.
February 28 – The Dick Goodwin Quintet has had a long history of collaborations
at Town Theatre. They will be playing for the
theatre’s 90th birthday party at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention
Center.
